Iranian President: No real freedom in the US

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Sunday that the US allegations with regard to defending freedom and human rights are false recalling the killing of one million people of the region by ex-US President George W Bush on the pretext of fighting terrorism. 

President Ahmadinejad made the remark in an exclusive interview with IRIB's channel two television.

He noted that arresting people for merely expressing their viewpoints on the Holocaust issue is a good example for lack of freedom in the US.

The president said that during his upcoming visit to New York to attend the annual summit of the United Nations General Assembly he will discuss these issues.

Asked about the main purpose for holding a the International Conference on Global Alliance against Terrorism for a Just Peace (GAATJP) in Tehran, he said that the main purpose for holding the conference is due to the fact terrorism is a new threat against the humanity and ways for fighting terrorism should be reviewed.

'They support those countries that are run by dictators. They orchestrate and organize terrorism around the world,' President Ahmadinejad added.

He noted that the presence of all nations is needed for uprooting terrorism and if they do not cooperate terrorism will not be eradicated.
